About International Recruitment East

International Recruitment East is a partnership supported by Norfolk County Council. Norfolk County Council acts as the lead local authority on behalf of the International Recruitment East (IRE) partnership.

The partnership consists of:

  • 12 local authorities operating in the East of England
  • Eight care associations
  • The Eastern Region Care Association Alliance (ERCAA)

We offer regionally-accessible resources for internationally recruited care workers and adult social care providers through the following Hub and Spoke model.

At the centre of the project is the hub. This is made up of regionally-accessible resources, including this website, for care providers, internationally recruited care workers and the broader adult social care workforce.

From this hub there are six localised spokes which are:

  • Norfolk
  • Peterborough
  • Milton Keynes
  • Cambridgeshire
  • A cluster made up of Central Bedfordshire, Bedford Borough and Luton
  • A cluster made up of Essex, Southend, Thurrock, Suffolk and Hertfordshire

Each localised spoke has set up mailboxes which care providers and internationally recruited care workers can use to find support if:

  • An internationally recruited care worker has been impacted by a licence suspension or revocation
  • An internationally recruited care worker wants to switch employers due to unethical and/or poor employment practices
  • Care providers wish to recruit international care workers as described above

Some spokes will also offer internationally recruited care workers help with a CV or interview support if they are seeking a new job in the care sector.

International Recruitment East is funded by the Department for Health and Social Care International Recruitment fund with the aim to provide support to internationally recruited care workers and adult social care providers.
